Libraries of Russia: The Day of Library launched in Vladimir

On November 16 2010 at the Vladimir State University kicked off the Day of the regional scientific library.

Its program featured the “New books” exhibition, presentations of e-databases of the Technical and Agricultural Literature, Information-Bibliography and Foreign Literature Divisions.

Visitors familiarized themselves with “Electronic Theses database of the Russian State Library”, “Scientific Electronic Library” and “Universal East View databases”, as well as editions on social sciences and humanities, statistical editions of Russia, Russian press and the oldest historical journal “Voprosy Istorii” (“The Issues of History”).

Residents of Vladimir got acquainted with the “Pro-Quest eLibrary” reference-search system (e-library, which provides access to more than 2 000 full-text journals, newspapers, books, recorded TV programs in English) and “Oxford Scholarship Online” database (over 4300 eBooks of the Oxford University Press in English on law, music, literature, neuroscience etc.
