Internet resources: Users contribute to the new site on Modern Art

27 December 2010

A new web-resource “Art-propaganda” has been launched on the Ru-net. The portal represents a forum and informative resource, updated by readers. This is a public initiative which has been supported by the St. Petersburg branch of the State Center of Modern Art (GCSI) and a non-profit organization St. Petersburg Arts Project.

Project’s initiators claim that they take an interest in modern art of yesterday and today, but they are especially interested in the future of modern art. The website does not aim to track down all events happening in the world of art, but to analyze interesting ones and create an incentive for new.

The project is located in St. Petersburg but welcomes for participation all who wants to share their opinions and ideas. The purpose of the “Art-propaganda” project is a dialogue between those who are involved in the art-process and those who take an interest in it regardless the geographical position.

The website has “art-way of life” section – events and problems of the modern art in St. Petersburg and worldwide, “re-action” – city events in the eyes of artists, UtopiaLab – publication and discussion of texts, manifestos, declarations, drawings, sketches and other audio- and visual materials, “Love for art” – stories of the Russian art-scene members based on a piece of modern art important for them, “In-Yaz” – translated works and theoretical texts on modern art from foreign languages.

“Art-propaganda” also contains a section for new authors “Bloggers”, and “Self-advertisement” — space for advertising of initiatives in culture.
