Internet resources: “Mosfilm” offers free access to 500 films

The “Mosfilm” studio has provided a free access to more than 500 films from its collection. From December 20 everyone has an opportunity to freely view the best examples of Soviet and Russian filmmaking in a virtual cinema online on the “Mosfilm” website.

Every day in two virtual cinemas Internet surfers may freely watch films from the “Mosfilm” archive. The program of the virtual cinema is changing every week. Users can view their favorite Soviet comedies at a convenient time for them.

There is also an opportunity of an individual online view – each film of the film studio’s catalogue is available at any time. You can download the most favorite films at a symbolic price – 65 rubles.

All films available for online view and download are of a good quality, the sound and image have been restored. All the films are accompanied by short annotations, some films provide subtitles in various languages.

The project was launched on April 28. At the beginning the catalogue brought together 142 films, as compared to 500 today, while in the near future the number of available films will total 800.
