IT and Society: “Yandex”, Kaspersky Lab and ABBYY top the list of Russian innovators

“Yandex”, “Kaspersky Lab” and the developer of linguistic programs ABBYY have topped the list of leading innovative companies of Russia, released by the Fast Company magazine.

“Yandex” has been praised “for mastering search”, and especially for elaborate algorithms needed for work with Russian language, what enables the company to preserve its leadership in the Russian market, leaving behind even the world’s leader - Google. “Kaspersky Lab”, Fast Company reads, “has turned hackers into an army of virus fighters”, while ABBYY has been highlighted for successful introduction of pioneering optical text recognition technology.

Earlier Fast Company unveiled a similar worldwide study which showed the world’s 50 most innovative companies. “Yandex” and “Kaspersky Lab” were No. 26 and No. 32 respectively in this list.
