International events: Moscow holds Youth scientific forum “Lomonosov-2011”

April 11 - 15, 2011 Lomonosov Moscow State University is holding the largest International youth scientific forum in Eurasia “Lomonosov-2011”, which marks 300th birthday anniversary of Mikhail Lomonosov, 20th foundation anniversary of the Commonwealth of Independent States, the Year of Historical and Cultural Heritage of CIS, 50th anniversary of the first flight of a man into space. Forum is held at the Assembly Hall of the Moscow State University’s Fundamental library.

Following the decision of the Council of the Heads of State, CIS of May 21, 2010 “Lomonosov” forum has been included into the list of official events of the 20th anniversary Year of CIS.

“Lomonosov-2011” forum includes 18th International scientific conference of students, graduates and young scholars; international student Olympiads in natural sciences and the humanities; the contest of popular science publications and innovative projects of young scientists, and other events called to promote research practice among young people and discover talented youth.

Forum will cover all areas of modern fundamental and applied science. Following the tradition forum’s program will feature a special interdisciplinary section “CIS: the view of youth”, which will highlight 20th foundation anniversary of CIS, the Year of Historical and Cultural Heritage in CIS, as well as the upcoming Year of Sport and Healthy Lifestyle in CIS.
