The Presidential Library hosted a roundtable discussion for specialists of Russia’s university libraries

March 31, 2011 the Boris Yeltsin Presidential Library hosted a roundtable discussion which brought together participants of the interregional seminar intended for heads and specialists of Russia’s university libraries “University libraries: educational and information activities”.

High on the agenda at the meeting were various aspects of performance of libraries, university libraries included, in conditions of active development of digital environment and information technologies. About the expertise of the Presidential Library – the first national born-digital library - spoke its leading specialists. They emphasized methodological approaches, key principles and organizational forms applied when building the national electronic resource of the Presidential Library, and also pointed out to linguistic support of the library’s electronic catalogue.

Guests also had a tour during which participants of the roundtable discussion were shown various options offered to users who work with resources of the Presidential Library’s Reading room.

The roundtable discussion was mounted within the framework of research activities of the Presidential Library. In this field the library is developing cooperation with cultural, research and educational institutions of Russia.
