On June 23, 2011 exhibition halls of the State Museum of the History of St. Petersburg (Rumyantsev Mansion) are opening the international exhibition of graphics and paintings “Italian tricolor”, which is a part of the Year of Italian language and culture in Russia.

It showcases paintings and graphic works of contemporary Italian and Russian artists, which depict the nature, sights, towns of the south of Italy, in particular, an ancient town of Motera.

For the first time in Russia the exhibition puts on show works of famous Italian virtuosos Vittorio Manno and Angelo Rizzelli, who work in the town of Matera in the "Grafica di Via Sette Dolori" studio.

Also under the common title “Country of High Inspirations…” goes an exposition of works by St. Petersburg artists dedicated to Italy.

Separate section of the exhibition is represented by the project “Picturesque Lucania”, which has been organized by the art school for adults “Arteriya” in collaboration with the cultural society “Skaletta”. The exhibition displays sketches of students of the school, which were drawn during the Italian “en plein air” this May.
