Memory of Russia: Festival of Military and Historical Re-Enactment kicks off in Severodvinsk
On July 31, 2011 Severodvinsk (Аrkhangelsk Oblast) is holding the Festival of Military and Historical Re-Enactment within the framework of the City Day and the Navy Day.
One of the highlights of this festival is the re-enactment of the Petsamo-Kirkenes Offensive of the Red Banner Northern Fleet in 1944.
Organizers of the re-enactment intend to revive the events of the Great Patriotic War to the smallest detail. Spectators will have an opportunity to see authentic and close to real uniform, equipment and armament. Participants will revive the way of life of soldiers and seamen, and put on display the military hardware of that time. The festival in Severodvinsk has attracted re-enactors from three regional centers of Russia – Moscow, St. Petersburg and Murmansk.
