IT and Regions of Russia: New electronic data terminal installed in St. Petersburg
The new data terminal, known as infomat, which allows Russian citizens to access all governmental services, has been installed at the first inter-district Multifunction Center for Rendering Governmental Services, that has opened in St. Petersburg at the United Document Center.
Now using the new infomat every visitor of the Multifunction Center can access all governmental services of federal, regional or local level, available in electronic format via www.gosuslugi.ru web resource.
The new data terminal has a sensor screen, bill acceptor, plastic card reader, check printer, video camera, microphone and a sound system for video- and audio link with a qualified consultant operator at the call center.
The first to test the work of infomat were participants of the Multifunction Center’s opening ceremony, including the vice-governor of St. Petersburg Mikhail Oseevsky. He said that “today the City Administration is paying particular attention to improvement of the quality and accessibility of govt services. The work in St. Petersburg in conducted within two strategic areas: extension and equipment of multifunction centers network, as well as organization of governmental services provision in electronic format via Internet”.
All in all, in St. Petersburg “Rostelecom – North-West” has installed 20 data terminals at multifunction centers, which have been set up in all administrative districts of the city, and in Rostelecom service centers.
