
History of Russia: Exposition of archaeological finds in Moscow
The exhibition hall of the Old Merchant Court in Moscow houses "Recent archaeological discoveries" exhibition featuring the latest archaeological discoveries in the capital and timed to the Day of the city. There are exhibits, found during excavations on Triumph Square, in Small Kozikhinsky lane Volkhonka, Sivtseff Vrazhek, Solyanka.
Visitors can see a collection of coins minted by hand, pitchers, book clasps and even old entrance tickets to "Sovremennik" theater. Of particular interest to archaeologists was a ring discovered during the excavation. Experts even managed to define its identity.
During this year, archaeologists found 1,200 artifacts. Some of them date to the 15th century, the majority - to the 17th and 18th centuries. Over the next three years, these findings will be given over to Russian museums.
