International events: Russian center to open its doors on board “Nadezhda” sailing ship within Russian-Japanese Student Conference
The Russian-Japanese Student Conference is running in Vladivostok from August 22 to August 28, 2011. Its participants turn the spotlight on the problems of educational systems of both countries and demographics. Young people of two countries take an interest in the way the Russian culture via art, literature, and sport influences the Japanese, while nuclear power stations in Japan have an impact on the ecology in Russia.
This is the 23rd conference that is held with support of Russkiy Mir Foundation. Its purpose is to familiarize participants with life and culture of their peers from another country and exchange ideas on urgent issues. The conference has been held in turns: one year in Japan, the next in Russia.
Director of the Far Eastern Branch of Russkiy Mir Foundation Alexander Zubritskiy believes that the conference gives a chance to young people to learn about the traditions and culture of Russia and Japan. “For the first time the Russian center will open its doors on board “Nadezhda” sailing ship, what without a doubt, would further our friendly relations”, he said.
