Under a special program for the guest of honor of 24th Moscow International Book Fair - Italy - in the exhibition hall of the Pashkov House in the Russian State Library opened an exhibition "Treasures of identity." On display are unique Italian manuscripts of 15th – 19th centuries. They are only eleven, but each is worthy of special mention.
The exhibition features the manuscript of the "Divine Comedy" by Dante, an autograph letter of Giuseppe Garibaldi, the first edition of the "Canzone and triumphs" by Petrarch, a large engraved album of drawings by Leonardo da Vinci dating the 18th century, and other unique materials. The margins of some publications still keep the authors’ notes. All these books have never been displayed in Russia before.
