The Net Applications Company summed up the September study of world browsers market.
Internet Explorer, although it remains the most popular Web browser, continues to "lose ground": within the last month, its share fell from 55.3 to 54.39%, while in September of 2010, IE held 61.5% of the market.
The second place belongs to Firefox with a share of 22.48%. A year ago the figure was 23.7%.
Chrome closes the top three with 16.2%. During the year the Web browser of Google doubled its share; analysts believe that by 2012 the browser may take up to 20% of the market.
Next come the Apple Safari and Opera with a score of 5.02 and 1.67% respectively. In September 2010, the proportion of those browsers was equal to 3.9 and 2.4%.
