History of Russia: Eighth International Theoretical and Practical Conference “Izborsk and its neighborhood”

November 23rd-24th 2011 “Izborsk” Museum-Reserve is running the Eighth International Theoretical and Practical Conference “Izborsk and its neighborhood”.

The conference has attracted historians, ethnographers, archeologists, architects-restorers, biologists, art historians, researchers of local history, philologists, geographers, other researchers, representatives of the Russian Orthodox Church.

Participants of the conference will deliver reports on the history of Izborsk, its architecture, problems concerning study, preservation, popularization of cultural, historical and natural heritage of the region.

The conference is held in accordance with the regional plan of events for preparation for 1150th foundation anniversary of Izborsk which will be celebrated in September 2012.
