Regions of Russia: Fourth Interregional Theoretical and Practical Conference “Samara Region in the History of Russia”

November 23-24 2011 Alabin Samara Regional Museum of History and Local Lore is holding the Fourth Interregional Theoretical and Practical Conference “Samara Region in the History of Russia”, which celebrates 160th anniversary of Samara Governorate and 125th foundation anniversary of Alabin Samara Regional Museum of History and Local Lore.

The conference addresses urgent problems concerning region-specific historical and natural-science studies, latest studies in archaeology and ethnography; and issues related to development and study of museum collections; latest technologies at museums.

The conference has brought together scientists, museums’ staff members, local historians from Samara Region, Moscow, Kazan, Nizhniy Novgorod, Balashov and Pugachev. The conference has also attracted the Director of Stara Zagora Regional Museum of History (Bulgaria) Dr. Svetla Dimitrova. She will join a roundtable discussion “Museum in Modern Time” on November 25 which will attract heads of state and municipal museums of Samara Region.
