IT and Libraries: All-Russian Youth Conference “Computer Technology in Library and Information Systems” kicks off in Moscow

On November 11 2011 Sholokhov Moscow State University for the Humanities is running the All-Russian Youth Conference “Computer Technology in Library and Information Systems”.

The conference will address the following issues:

- Library’s role in shaping national information culture;

- Information and library backing of education, science and innovations;

- Ideas of the youth of creating electronic resources for libraries: archiving, statistics, digitization etc;

- Publishing and electronic resources for libraries and education;

- Library staff: ICT skills – a new quality of the profession and library education;

- Copyright and libraries in digital information epoch.

The conference has attracted young specialists, students of universities of Russia; heads and specialists of university libraries, information centers, publishing and bookselling companies, and all concerned.
