World History: International conference marking 65 years since the Nuremberg Trials underway in Moscow
On November 11 2011 the Central Museum of the Great Patriotic War in Moscow is holding the International Theoretical and Practical Conference “The Nuremberg Trials: History and the Present”, which marks 65 years since the Nuremberg Trials.
The conference is timed to the close of the International Military Tribunal over the Nazi criminals in Nuremberg (on October 1 1946). The conference is supposed to touch upon historical and legal aspects of the Nuremberg Trials, lessons for development of international legitimacy.
It will also run “The Nuremberg Trials” exhibition and Roman Karmen’s “Nuremberg Trials” documentary.
The conference will bring together representatives of Belarus, Ukraine, embassies of the United States, Great Britain and France (all in all 23 countries which attended the conference in London in August 1945 to elaborate the Charter of the Trials).
