Memory of Russia: Four more cities awarded the name of the “City of Military Glory”

The President of Russia Dmitry Medvedev signed decrees to award an honorary title of the “City of Military Glory” to Kovrov, Lomonosov, Taganrog and Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky. The honorary title of the Russian Federation the “City of Military Glory” has been awarded for courage, fortitude and mass heroism displayed by defenders of the cities during the struggle for freedom and independence of the Fatherland, informed the Kremlin press service.

The Federal law on awarding an honorary title of the “City of Military Glory” was signed by the Russian President on May 9, 2006. The title is awarded to the cities whose defenders displayed courage, fortitude and mass heroism.
