Memorable dates of Russia: Monuments to Patriarchs Hermogenes and Filaret to be raised for the 400th anniversary of Revolt overcoming

It was proposed to raise the monuments to Patriarchs Hermogenes and Filaret in honor of the 400th anniversary of the Revolt overcoming to be celebrated the next year. The idea was proposed at the last hearings in the Public Chamber of Russia devoted to the upcoming jubilee.

During the hearings it was also proposed to attribute the federal status to the celebrations, to immortalize the memory of the Tsar Mikhail Feodorovich, of the heroes of the Revolt, to establish in early May the Day of Memory of Mikhail Skopin-Shuyisky and other heroes of the Revolt overcoming including the requiem in the Archangel cathedral of the Moscow Kremlin, attribute to some of the sites the status of the Field of Military Glory, create the Union of Cities 400, make a film about the heroes of the peoples’ liberation movement of the early 17th century, develop new itineraries of pilgrims and tourists.

The celebration will be held in several stages; the main events will be held in Moscow on 3-5 November 2012. Also, it was proposed to organize the events in honor of the 400th anniversary of the coronation of Mikhail Romanov in June 2013, in Moscow, Kostroma, Yekaterinburg and other cities.
