IT and Security: International Student Conference on IT security problems in Moscow

On March 6th-7th 2012 Kaspersky Lab is holding a regional round of the Fifth International Student Conference IT Security for the Next Generation”. Underway in Moscow the two-day forum brings together undergraduate and postgraduate students and scholars, who are going to show off their works devoted to urgent problems of IT security. Authors of the best reports will be awarded valuable prizes, and will get an opportunity to join the conference’s finale at Delft Technical University (the Netherlands) in May, where they will enter the competition with their colleagues from different regions of the world.

The opening day of the conference is running at Bauman Moscow State Technical University. It has started with a panel discussion “Internet of the Future, Trends and Forecasts” and brought together Kaspersky Lab experts and representatives of the university. It is followed by a presentation of projects authored by students.

On the second day of the conference its participants will pay a visit to Kaspersky Lab where they will discover the work of virus analysts. After that they will listen to reports of Kaspersky Lab leading specialists based on the evolution of protection tools for iOS devises and a presentation on DDoS-attacks. The award ceremony of the winners will close the conference.

“IT Security for the Next Generation” conference has been run by Kaspersky Lab on a yearly basis since 2008. Kaspersky Lab’s initiative brings together IT security professionals from around the globe aiming to broaden young programmers’ professional horizons and discover their potential, attract the bright youth to the fight against IT threats. The conference has an international status and consists of 4 regional rounds: European, American, Pacific countries, the Middle East and Africa, Russia and the CIS member states, and also the international finale which unites winners of all regional rounds.
