Pantheon of heroes of the 1812 war is represented by a rare collection of prints from the originals by John Doe from the famous "Military Gallery" in Winter Palace.

The exhibition also features essays and memoirs of contemporaries, urgent responses to the military events in periodicals.

A unique collection of costumes, accessories of fine clothes of the aristocracy, characteristic portraits of the first quarter of the 19th century, brought from France especially for this exhibition, adds a striking accent to the thematic collection of the Pushkin Museum, whose holdings include hundreds of paintings, drawings, decorative arts, furniture, rare editions and valuable documentary sources of the 18th – 19th centuries.
