Information technology and society: Dudu.com Multilingual social network launched in Russia

Multilingual social network Dudu.com was launched in Russia April 26, 2012.

The main difference of Dudu.com is a built-in machine translation, which had been developed forr four years by the service team. Dudu Translate knows how to learn, memorize words and phrases that are used by users.

At the moment, the system understands English, Russian and Arabic. In the near future will be launched the translation from Turkish, Chinese, French, Italian, Spanish and other languages.

While users exchange messages in the social network, the system will automatically translate them into the language indicated by user in his profile.

Minister of Mass Communications of Russia, Igor Shchegolev, at the presentation of the social network said that the Dudu.com project team is expected to be successful.

Within a few months of the social network’s operation in alpha test mode, it has already been joined by more than three million users. The creators of the resource expect that by the end of 2012 Dudu.com audience in Russia will reach 10 million users.
