Russian culture abroad: Russian Center of Science and Culture to open in Laos

April 27, 2012 in Moscow, Konstantin Kosachev, Head of Rossotrudnichestvo, and Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Lao People's Democratic Republic, Khemmani Folsena signed the Agreement between the Government of the Russian Federation and the Government of the Lao People's Democratic Republic on the establishment and terms of work of information and cultural centers. The event was held within the IX meeting of the Intergovernmental Russian-Lao Commission on trade-economic and scientific-technical cooperation.

Opening of the RCSC in Vientiane is scheduled before the end of 2012. The Centre's activities will focus on the implementation of bilateral cultural, scientific- technical and information cooperation, support of Russian compatriots living in Laos, promotion of the Russian language and Russian culture, establishment and development of partnerships between cities and regions of Russia and Laos.
