Information technologies and archives: A database containing copies of captured German documents is created

April 23, 2012 the head of the Federal Archive Agency A. N. Artizov and the chairman of the Board of the Foundation of the German Humanities Institutes abroad H. Duhardt signed a Protocol of Intent on creating a joint database of documents of the German origin, moved to the USSR in the issue of the World War II and now stored in the archives of the Russian Federation.
The three-year project involves the copying of stored in Russian archives documents from the period of the existence of Nazi Germany and the creation of a database with posting on the Internet, that allows to raise to a higher qualitative level research in the field of military history of both countries. The German Historical Institute in Moscow will oversee this project.
