Information technology and history: Russian emigration press archive goes online
The "Illustrated Russia" edition of 1920-30's now has a website-archive. Every week the site is updated with new magazines, illustrations and documents.
The "Illustrated Russia" magazine had been published in Paris, in Russian, from 1924 to 1939. During the 15 years of existence, 748 issues were published representing a monumental chronicle of the life of the Russian emigration.
Librarium.fr will also be representing other emigrant journals published before the war around the globe: in Paris, Berlin, Riga, and Harbin. Currently the site makes available the Berlin magazine "Firebird," the Parisian newspaper "Days", edited by Kerensky, the comic magazine "Satyricon", the Riga newspaper "For You" and the Harbin’s "Abroad." In the future, the list of editions will be greatly expanded and updated.
The project is designed for a wide audience and is intended to help those who want to learn more about the life of millions of compatriots who left Russia after the revolution of 1917.
