Book history: Exhibition of Russian Children Book Illustration in New York

In New York, opened an exhibition dedicated to the art of children's book illustration in Russia. The exposition has become one of the major events of the cycle Read Russia, timed to coincide with BookExpo America.

"172 Duane" Gallery, in the center of Manhattan, is featuring 50 unique children's books and 30 posters of the 1920s - 1930s. The project has been implemented by the Federal Agency for Press and Mass Communications of Russia.

"The exhibition is devoted to the history of Russian children's illustrated book and its future, said art director of the exhibition, Vladimir Semenikhin. - Especially for New York were selected exhibits, primarily, the rare illustrations by avant-garde artists. "

The exhibition features contemporary works as well – illustrations made by children and adolescents of the Moscow art studios.
