World History: Exhibition “Russia in the Holy Land” in Moscow
June 5, 2012 at the Central Exhibition Hall "Manege" in Moscow opens an exhibition "Russia in the Holy Land: the 130th anniversary of cooperation between the Imperial Orthodox Palestine Society (IOPS) and the peoples of the Middle East", featuring a large-scale exposition of artifacts, paintings, prints and objects of worship.
"Guests and participants from Israel, Palestine, Jordan, Syria, Lebanon and Egypt, the representatives of the Jerusalem, Constantinople and the other patriarchs are invited to the exhibition," - said the chairman of the society, Sergei Stepashin in the course of the meeting of IOPS, timed to the 130th anniversary of the society creation.
The exhibition at the Central Exhibition Hall "Manege" features personal archives of the chairmen and activists of the Palestine Society, items from private collections and museums in the church, including an archaeological study of the Church of the Moscow Theological Academy, Novospassky Stavropighial Monastery of St. Nicholas Berlyukovskaya deserts, Martha and Mary abode of mercy, and others. Also, visitors are offered the numerous publications of the Palestine Society in 1882 to the present time.
