Information technology and museums: St Petersburg Museum of Theater and Music was presented with electronic catalogue

ELAR Corporation completed the scanning of twelve accounting books for the St. Petersburg State Museum of Theater and Music. Digitization was made using ELAR PlanScan "C" series, specifically designed for safe and high quality scanning of books, including those with a thick spine. The result of digitizing is 1500 electronic images of 400 dpi.

The project allows the museum to ensure the safety of paper-based inventories, quickly obtain information about museum objects, and in the future will also provide the opportunity to process information from the graphic images of pages of books to fill the museum's database.

ELAR Corporation cooperates with Russian theater museums for many years. For example, for the Bakhrushin Theater Museum it has scanned and converted accounting books, digitized photographs from the collection of the Museum. In the Museum of the Bolshoi Theatre ELAR has created an electronic collection of costumes.
