Exhibitions: Exposition “Nicolay Zagrekov and Russian Berlin” in Moscow
Exhibition “Nicolay Zagrekov and Russian Berlin” opened on July 11, 2012 in the Multimedia Art Museum and for the first time in Moscow it presents more than 150 items from the collection of the memorial flat of the artist in Berlin. First of all, these are unique silver gelatin prints of the author of 1920-1930s, reflecting the author’s opinion on the atmosphere of Berlin of that time, as well as painting, graphics, multimedia and archival materials.
The exhibition offers to look at the cultural phenomenon of “Russian Berlin” through the eyes of an emigrant of 1920s – the Russian artist N. A. Zagrekov (1897-1922).
The exposition features rare objects of industrial graphics – amazing and bright sketches of advertising posters, created by Nicolay Zagrekov and his students; graphic and architectural sketches, as well as news in pictures of 1920-1930s. Thanks to modern 3D technology visitors are offered to see authentic interiors of the Berlin House of Zagrekov and take a virtual walk through his rooms.
