World history: Exhibition “Rescue in the Arctic” opened on the Icebreaker “Krassin” in Saint-Petersburg

August 10, 2012 on the legendary icebreaker “Krassin” in Saint-Petersburg opened an exhibition “The rescue in the Arctic”, dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Civil Defense and the 20th anniversary Search and Rescue Service of the EMERCOM of Russia.

The exhibition presents the history of the largest rescue of the XX century. The largest exposition is devoted to the rescue by the crew of "Krassin" of the Umberto Nobile polar expedition in 1928. A draft of the EMERCOM on creating systems of rescue centers in the Arctic is also presented at the exhibition.
