Press center on coverage the preparation of the celebration of the 300th anniversary of the Alexander Nevsky Lavra is created in Saint-Petersburg. The anniversary of the Lavra will be celebrated on March 25, 2013. As reported its head, a famous TV journalist and producer Natalia Rodomanova, the start of the anniversary events will be given on September 12, the day of the relics of the saint patron of Saint-Petersburg, Saint Alexander Nevsky.

Commemorative events which will cover by the press center, will last during the year 2013. Conferences, round tables, art and songwriting competitions, exhibitions, concerts, festivals of the Christian Film and choral groups, presentations of new books, educational projects for young people are scheduled. An integral part of the celebrations will be the general church and the patron festivals of the Alexander Nevsky lavra.

It is expected the participation of Patriarch Kirill and top officials during the main events of 2013.

The Press centre will operate in accordance with the Government of Saint-Petersburg on the plan of events to celebrate the anniversary, as well as with the organizing committee of the celebrations, which was headed by Governor Georgy Poltavchenko. The Metropolitan of Saint-Petersburg and Ladoga, Abbot of the monastery, Bishop of Vyborg Nazarius, representatives of the government of the city and diocese, workers of culture were also included to the organizing committee.
