International events: “Forgotten photographs of Russo-Turkish war of 1877-1878” exhibition as part of the Religious Culture Days of Bulgaria in Russia
November 21, 2012 at the Military Historical Museum of Artillery, Engineers and Signal Corps (St. Petersburg) opens "Forgotten photographs of Russian-Turkish war of 1877-1878". The project is a part of the Days of the religious culture of Bulgaria in Russia.
Exhibition in St. Petersburg presents to Russian audience photos from the collection of the Bulgarian artist and photographer Ivo Hadzhimishev, lifetime honorary member of the Royal Association of Great Britain photographers. For years, Ivo Hadzhimishev has been collecting, processing, and displaying to the contemporaries the best samples of Bulgarian photos of the last century. In 1877, Russian troops took Plevna, having come to the aid of the brotherly people of Bulgaria. Old photographs of 1878-1879 come to life the events of the Russian-Turkish War, the audience reopens heroic pages of national history. After the exhibition the photos will be officially granted by the owner to the Museum of Artillery.
