Society and Church: The XI Church and Society Exhibition Forum “Orthodox Rus’ – to the Day of People’s Unity” in Moscow

From 4 to 8 November 2012 in Moscow at the Central Exhibition Hall "Manege" is running the XI Church and Society Exhibition Forum "Orthodox Russia - the Day of People’s Unity."

The central theme of the exhibition: "The Church, the government and the people. Learned to overcome troubles and finding unity".

The exhibition-Forum is one of the central events of the National People’s Day in Russia. The exhibition is held in the Year of the Russian history. Expositions prepared by Patriarchal Council for Culture, the Synodal institutions, dioceses, stauropegions, Government of Moscow and St. Petersburg, dedicated to memorable events that have national significance:

One of the central events of the exhibition will be the presentation to the public of the results of the All-Russian open competition for the best architectural solution sculptural monument to Patriarch Hermogenes. The exhibition will feature more than 80 works of the best sculptors of Russia. Patriarch Hermogenes monument will be set in place of the foundation stone in the Alexander Garden.

The feature of the exhibition-forum "Orthodox Russia" this year will be a theatrical tour of "History of Russia through the eyes of children". Russia's image in the course of this action is compared with the image of phoenix - a symbol of eternal life and rebirth. This image will be the leitmotif of the route, which will hold a child guides.

The main shrine of this exhibition will be Our Lady of Kazan, which with the blessing of Most Holy Patriarch Cyril will be delivered from the Kazan Cathedral of St. Petersburg to Moscow.
