Russian culture abroad: Festival “Russia – Italy. Through the centuries” is held in Rome
December 2, 2012 in Rome opened the Festival of Russian culture “Russia – Italy. Through the centuries”.
As part of the festival the RCSC hosts a photo exhibition of Sergei Veretennikov – “Solovetsky Islands – reflection of heaven”, performances of young saxophone quartet Ad Libitum, as well as screenings of Peter and Valery Todorovsky in the framework of the program “Fathers and Sons. Comparison of generations”
The festival is organized by the Directorate of International programs, the Fund for Social and Cultural initiatives and the Presidential Center of Boris Yeltsin with the support of the Ministry of Culture of Russia and the mayor of Rome.
The culmination of the festival will be the award ceremony of the literary prize “Russia – Italy. Through the centuries”. The Jury consisting of prominent Italian Slavists celebrates the most successful translations into Italian as classics and contemporary Russian authors.
