International events: The 21st session of the Asia-Pacific Parliamentary Forum held in Vladivostok
27-31 January 2013 Vladivostok hosts the 21st session of the Asia-Pacific Parliamentary Forum (APPF).
Russia’s presidency in the APPF is aimed at further improvement of international and national law, which should contribute to the deepening of regional economic integration, stability and international security.
Organizers consider the 21st session of APPF as the continuation of the parliamentary dimension of the September summit organization “Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation” (APEC) with participation of Heads of States and Government of the Asia-Pacific region. The infrastructure, created especially for the APEC on the Russky Island in Vladivostok, will be used for the Forum of Parliamentarians.
For the first time in the practice of the APPF to the session are invited leaders of the authoritative international organizations, including the UN. As part of the session will be held round table "APR - Europe: new horizons of cooperation" and a meeting of young parliamentarians of the Asia Pacific region.
Russia is interested in the modernization and innovative development of the economy, including Asian regions. Participants of the forum will be able to see the presentation of the program of multilateral international cooperation in Siberia and the Far East, with ongoing education here, and research projects.
