Russian culture abroad: France hosts the festival of Russian culture “Russenko”

On January 25, 2013 in France, in Le Kremlin-Bicêtre, starts the Festival of Russian culture “Russenko”. French viewers will be offered a program which includes fine arts, photography, literature, cinema, theatre, dance and music.

The festival opens with a retrospective exhibition “Russia by Igor Mukhin: photographs of 1987-2012”, which includes 62 works. Works by the author are exhibited throughout the world, for example, in the Museum of Modern Art in New York, the State Tretyakov Gallery   in Moscow and the European House of Photography in Paris.

As part of the festival film program are scheduled screenings of films by Alexander Sokurov, Sergei Shezhkin, Victor Verezhko, Pavel Lungin.

The idea of the festival of Russian culture “Russenko” was born in 2010 during the cross year of Russia and France. Then this event was one of the most noticeable of the intercultural marathon, after which it was decided to hold the festival annually.
