Information technology and Church: Works by St. Augustine Aurelius are available online in Arabic
The main works of St. Augustine - one of the Fathers of the Church, the founder of the Christian philosophy of history – are published in Arabic, said Radio of Vatican.
According to the initiators of the project, monks of the Order of Augustinian from Genoa, Augustine texts in Arabic will promote a better understanding of Christianity by Muslims in North Africa and the Middle East. The decision to transfer the works born in what is now Algeria and served as bishop of Hippo (now - the Algerian city of Annaba) Augustine was taken in 2001 at a joint Christian-Muslim Colloquium.
Translations of Augustine's works are available free in the internet, and perhaps, with the availability of funds they will be published in the form of a book. Augustine (Aurelius) was born on November 13, 354, in Tagaste (now Souk Akhras in Algeria), and died on August 28, 430, at Hippo. His memory of the Catholic Church is celebrated on August 28, the Russian Orthodox Church - June 15, Old Style.
