Information technology and libraries: QR-library launched in Saint-Petersburg

SamoLit portal has launched in St. Petersburg the QR-library, the books from which you can download directly at the railway station: at the station platform “Moskovskaya” appeared posters, where next to the book cover are printed QR-codes by reading which you can get free books to your smart phone or e-reader. This action of a self-publishing of the portal SamoLit is launched as part of the campaign to promote the contemporary authors who already use the web site as well as attract new users. Now the “railway library” includes 32 books from fairy tales and detective stories to the Russian classics. In March, a poster with a new set of books will appear at the metro station “Sennaya Ploschad”.
