Society and Church: Photo exhibition, dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the Holy Trinity Alexander Nevsky Monastery, in Moscow
From March 25 to April 22, 2013 the Cathedral of Christ the Savior in Moscow hosts a photo exhibition dedicated to the 300th anniversary of Holy Trinity Alexander Nevsky Monastery.
As part of the exhibition are presented 80 photographs, dedicated to the architecture and history of the monastery, as well as the modern life of the monastery. The author of historical pictures is Karl Bulla. German by birth, he is considered to be “the father of Russian photo essay”. K. Bull and his sons have created a unique photo chronicle events of the first half of the XX century, including remembering the historical image of the last century the monastery to its ruin in the Soviet period.
The authors of recent works are photo artists Mikhail Manin, Yuri Kostygov, Alexander Petrosyan.
The exhibition is organized by the community program “Alexander Nevsky” of the Center of National Glory and the St. Andrew Foundation and the Interregional Public Organization “Alexander Nevsky Brotherhood” (program “Alexander Nevsky - Name of Russia”).
