History and culture: Exhibition “The World of homemakers’” to the International Women’s Day in Ulyanovsk

The museum “Archaeology of the Simbirsk region” (Ulyanovsk) opened the exhibition “The World of homemakers’”, devoted to woman.

The exhibition features items from the collections of the Museum-estate “Homeland of V. I. Lenin”.  These are household items used on a daily basis, and which were created by women with their own hands in the XIX - early XX century, representatives of the peoples of the Simbirsk region: the elements of traditional folk costumes, kitchen utensils, tools for needlework. The exposition is supplemented with photographic materials.

The exhibition is of interest to scholars, students and anyone interested in the history of material culture and ethnography of the native land and it will run until August 25.
