Internet and culture: Presentation of the Hermitage Line web site held in Kazan

7 March 2013

February 28, 2013 a new Internet-resource Hermitage Line is presented in the exhibition center “Hermitage – Kazan”.

According to creators, this web site should be a space for discussion of activities and problems of Russian and foreign museums, their role in the life of the country, the city and each individual. A special attention will be given to regional museums and projects which are rarely told about by the St. Petersburg media.

On pages of Hermitage Line there will be placed materials (texts, photos and videos) about exhibitions and exhibits, creative people and art projects, contemporary architecture and history. Here you will find serious articles, addressed to professionals (museum workers and art critics), and popular ones - for lovers of fine arts. Short stories for children and about children will take place at the page for children. Analytical texts, competitions and news will be at the first page. Special sections are given to restoration projects and archaeological expeditions.

Among the authors of the web site are professional journalists with art education and arts critics, able to express their views in the language of lovers; linguists and historians; writers and art critics. Each one of them is a person with his own view of the world of museums and original style of presentation.

The electronic resource Hermitage Line will be bilingual (Russian and English) and permanently (as of information events) updated. It will be in conjunction with popular online networks, it can be viewed from tablets and other mobile devices.

The first issue Hermitage Line contains materials about the exhibition center “Hermitage – Kazan” and exhibitions opened at the Hermitage to the 200th anniversary of the victory in the Patriotic War of 1812, about the history of the Gallery of the Winter Palace and the Hermitage poetic walk, made by the poet Oleg Tarutin. A separate page is assigned to numismatic stories - stories of collectible coins “Tatfondbank” with images of the masterpieces of world art.
