The exhibition features about 250 books, purchased from foreign publishing houses to the collections in the framework of the program of international book exchange and as gifts from individuals and organizations from the USA, Germany, France, Serbia, the Czech Republic, Israel and other countries.

The main section of the exhibition consists of editions on the history of Russia from ancient times to the present days.

The exhibition also features editions in Russian literature, art. We should note books, dedicated to the art of P. I. Tchaikovsky, F. L. Sologub, and D. I. Harms. Of particular interest are editions on ancient art by Vera Tremon.

One of the sections of the exhibition is dedicated to books, published in Russian in foreign counties. Authors of editions are our compatriots, who by coincidence found themselves outside the country. The literature of Russian abroad is widely presented in the collections of the NLR. The significant part consists of books of emigrants of the first wave. The appearance of new editions is associated with the emigration of recent decades and the collapse of the USSR. Of particular attention are new editions on the history of Russian emigration.

The exhibition will run till March 20, 2013.
