The information about more than one third of Russian cultural heritage objects by mid-2013 will be converted into electronic form. This was announced at a press conference of deputy head of the Ministry of Culture of Russia Grigory Pirumov.

In Russia there are about 146 thousand objects of cultural heritage. The data on them is in paper and is requiring updating. “Eighteen months ago it has been tasked to create a full registry, make an inventory”, - said the deputy minister. This work covers the period up to 2018, but last fall launched a pilot project to transfer information about these objects in an electronic form, the first results of which can be seen in the middle of this year.

“We hope that by the end of 2018, and perhaps earlier we will create a registry to ensure that the extract from the register is a legal document”, - said Pirumov.
