Culture and authority: The X anniversary Conference of ministers of culture of countries-members of the Council of Europe in Moscow

The X Anniversary Conference of ministers of culture of the Council of Europe is held in Moscow on 15-16 April 2013. Such a huge international event, organized by the Council of Europe with the support of the Ministry of Culture of Russia, for the first time is held in Russia.

At the conference will be discussed issues of cross-cultural interaction, the development of the cultural life in the world’s social and economic changes, as well as innovative ways of modern society in the field of culture.

The conference is attended by over 250 delegates, 30 of whom are the Ministers of Culture of the Council of Europe.

The conference organizers believe that it will be a new milestone in the strengthening of cooperation between the two countries in accordance with the strategic direction of the Council of Europe, which was defined in 2006 in the “White Paper on Intercultural Dialogue”. The main purpose of this paper is the formation of long-term policies to promote the principles of the Council of Europe in the field of culture in European countries and neighboring regions.
