History of Russia: Inter museum exhibition project “Catherine II. The way to the throne” in Kostroma
April 12, 2013 in the Romanov Museum in Kostroma opened the inter museum scale exhibition project “Catherine II: The way to the throne” “Fan of the Empress”).
“Fan of the Empress” - an exhibition project prepared by the Kostroma Museum Reserve and the State Historical Museum (SHM).
Among the most valuable exhibited relics are personal belongings of the Empress. Also are exhibited unique portraits of the main characters of that era and those around them: favorites, political allies and rivals. Visitors will see rare species of Moscow and Saint-Petersburg, the imperial residences, battle scenes, weapons, rare numismatic monuments, documentary materials, and household items. They all help to recreate the image of the true Enlightenment.
The exhibition will feature more than 230 exhibits of the XVIII century from the two state museums.
The exhibition will stay in Kostroma till June 17, 2013 and within one and a half year the exhibition telling about the life of one of the most brilliant Russian empresses will come to Irkutsk, Kirov, Suzdal, Vladimir and Novgorod.
