Society and Culture: Scientific-practical seminar "Historical and cultural environment of the city in the cultural and educational activities" in Karelia

From 15th to 17th of May 2013, on the eve of the International Day of Museums is held the Interregional (VIII Republican) Scientific Workshop on Museum Education "The Historical and Cultural Environment of the City of Cultural and Educational Activities".

The coordinators of the seminar are the Children Center of "Kizhi" Museum, the Institute for Advanced Training in the Republic of Karelia and the Regional Museum of Northern Ladoga.

During the workshop of 2013 the museum and teaching community of Karelia and Russia will get familiar with the practice of using the educational potential of the historical and cultural environment of the city, with the experience of Children Center of "Kizhi" Museum and relevant experiences of the other cultural and educational institutions.

The theme of the seminar is of current importance for cultural workers, as well as for teachers. The seminar is held in Petrozavodsk and Sortavala gathering more than 70 people from Petrozavodsk, Karelia regions, the North-West region of Russia, Tatarstan and Ukraine.

The seminar will launch "Legacy to the Children" V Republican contest of museum and educational activities and programs; the workshop will be concluded with a panel discussion on actualization and sustainability of the historical and cultural environment of the city.
