Russian regions: The exhibition, dedicated to the 210th anniversary of the Caucasian Mineral Waters opened in Stavropol

May 14, 2013 in the State Archive of the Stavropol region was held the presentation of historical-documentary exhibition “Native Land by seltzer poetized” dedicated to the 210th anniversary of the Caucasian Mineral Waters.

The exhibition features documents of the State Archives of the Stavropol region of the XIX - XX centuries that reflect the main stages of development of resorts of the Caucasian Mineral Waters.

For the first time it is exhibited the “Catalogue of lands of Caucasian provinces with the topographical and economic observations…” for 1819. This is the first document since the formation of the province, which contains information about the location, time and features of the formation of settlements, the number of population and land surveying of the Caucasus region, including the fortress Konstantinogorskaya and the Kislovodsk.

Unique are the sketches and drawings of architect Bernardazzi who laid the foundations of the architectural appearance of the Caucasian Mineral Waters. The exhibition displays street maps, profiles and facades of buildings of the first half of the XIX century.

Bulletins of the Caucasian Mineral Waters visitors discover the names of many famous people who have visited resorts. Among them are A. A. Alyabyev, M. Y. Lermontov, F. I. Chaliapin and others.

The soviet stage of development of resorts of the Caucasian Mineral Waters is presented at the exhibition by documents attesting to the accomplishment of the Resorts, protection of mineral water, construction of hospitals.

The exposition is complemented with exhibits from the G. N. Prozritelev and G. K. Prave Stavropol State Historical-Cultural and Natural Landscape Museum-Reserve: the calendar for physicians practicing in the resorts, medical instruments from the Civil and the Great Patriotic War, bottles of mineral water and etc.

The exhibition will run till August 1, 2013.
