History and Culture: XIII International Scientific Conference "Spiritual Origins of Russian Art and Enlightenment" in Novgorod

XIII International Scientific Conference "Spiritual early Russian art and education", also known as “Nikita's reading”, officially opens on 13th of May 2013 in the auditorium of the Novgorod Theological College of St. George Monastery. This year it is dedicated to the 1150th anniversary of the Orthodox Slavic literary culture. The new books and the paintings of Orel’s authors are featured at the opening ceremony.

Among invited are the scholars and the clerics of Belarus, Norway (Parish of the Holy Grand Princess St. Anne of Novgorod in Trondheim), Croatia and Lithuania, Moscow and St. Petersburg, Yekaterinburg, Irkutsk, Voronezh, Petrozavodsk, Omsk, Kaliningrad, Kazan, Orel and many other cities of Russia. Leading part in the Nikitsky Readings take the scientists, graduates and students of Novgorod University.
