To commemorate the 68th anniversary of the Great Victory: Military and historical reconstruction “The Last Fight” in St. Petersburg
May 12, 2013, in St. Petersburg, at the Forest Park Rzhevsky, an unique military-historical reconstruction "The Last Fight" will be held, dedicated to the last major battle in Europe: the fights that took place May 12, 1945 with the German units which were breaking through from Prague to the Allied troops. The event starts at 14.00.
There will be an open-air museum featuring artillery guns in positions, anti-aircraft guns, cars and trucks dating to the Great Patriotic War. Field kitchen and tent camp of the Red Army will be functioning too.
The reconstruction of the battle that took place three days after May 9, will engage enactors of the Wehrmacht and Waffen-SS, assault and infantry units of the Red Army, the medical battalions, gunners, armored vehicles and trucks.
