To commemorate the 68th anniversary of the Great Victory: Celebrations in Moscow

At a solemn meeting with veterans of the Great Patriotic War, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said that this year's celebration of May 9 will last more than one day. In fact, this will be a big May festival to unfold on the main streets, boulevards, in recreation centers, museums, theaters and concert halls. "There will be a lot of festive events, but all of them will be united by one key idea: Moscow says a grateful thank you to veterans of the war," specified the mayor of Moscow.

Thus, the military parade to take place on May 9 on the Red Square, will bring together more than 11, 000 soldiers and officers of the Moscow garrison, military school cadets, cadets of the Nakhimov and Suvorov military schools. Also, wreaths will be placed on the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, a concert will be held on Poklonnaya Hill, traditional meeting of war veterans will take place at Bolshoy Theatre. Moscow will be decorated with Victory banners, and in the evening of May 9 a salute will be fired.
